Will changing my seat ibiza rims affect the speed?

I have a seat ibiza 1.6 5 gears shift model 2002 and i want to change my rims from 14 inches to 16 does this affect my motor performance? Will changing my seat ibiza rims affect the speed? This is what you have to understand, just because the rim size changes it doesn't mean the outside diameter of the tire changes. If the stock tire size was a 185/70/14 (14%26quot;rim) you would upgrade to a 195/6515 tire (15%26quot; rim). Or upgrade to a 205/55/16 tire (16%26quot;rim). All three different sized rims ALL have the same outside diameter. The only difference is the tire sidewall height. So the speedometer/odometer would not change. Going to a larger rim will enhance the steering feel. It will be more responsive due to less sidewall deflection. When you get the 16%26quot; wheels, make sure it has the correct bolt mounting circle size and the correct offset. Best of luck. Will changing my seat ibiza rims affect the speed?the only thing it will effect is your speedometer and your odometer, because you are changing the distance it has to roll, also if the new wheels are heaver you may notice a slight decrease in speed
