i have a 89 22re 4*4 toyota pick up and seem to lack power on hills and slight inclines, what can i do to get pull more power from the engine, had the compression checked and it is great . Is ther a way to adjust the timing to yeild more power...

So make sure your spark plug wires aren't leaking spark off the wires to ground by parking the truck in a real dark spot so that you can look at the engine while you punch the accelerator and see if there's any visible sparks jumping around the plug wires. If so, check the continuity of each wire and you can use plastic %26quot;wire loom%26quot; to put around the plug wire where the spark is leaking off. Toyota trucks with a 4 cylinder are not that powerful, but very fuel efficient.
