Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?

We are trying to figure out why my son spits up so much (at least 30 times a day)...We originally thought it was reflux, however, now that he is 8 months old his spitting up has gotten worse and worse and no meds have helped. He has had an upper GI tract xray and everything looked normal. He now has diariea, a rash, and has lost a little bit of weight. WE also found out that he has an ear infection today and was wheezy a little bit. We are now thinking that he may have an allergy so we (my doc and I) have decided to try him on Alimentum formula. Has anyone tried this with a baby that spits up a lot ? Do you think my son has an allergy, or do you think it is reflux? Any input would be great! Thanks! Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?We had to try several different formula's for our 4 month old. We finally found one that works. NUTRAMIGEN. ITs from Enfamil and its really expensive. But it really helped him. He is now gaining weight and doesnt cry as much. IT is very similar to Alimentum...but it doesnt smell as bad! YOu might also have him checked for asthma. Hope that helps you!! GoodluckWill changing formula help with my childs spitting up?Maybe you should try breastfeeding? Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?Try changing the formula and DON%26quot;T over feed him. He will spit up if you OVERFILL that little tummy.

You might also try goat's milk. Some formulas have dried cows milk and soya in them, he might be allergic to them.

Goat's milk is absolutely digestible for infants and is excellent for allergies. Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?sounds like formula. My son is going on 5 months and we've had the same problems he is on his 6th formula and it's working. He is now on Nestle Good Start Supreme. One of my others children was on it as a baby as well for the same thing. Good Luck. Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?he might be lactose intolerant, try isomil formulaWill changing formula help with my childs spitting up?I think there are few things that are happening here, your son is having his teeths at the moment growing up and kids dont like the pain generally and they spit most of the time, the other possiblity might be (when did you take him for immunisation last) if its recently these are the side effects something during and after these vaccanation, and also the formula is something that he should have used to it by not, he is 8 months, but if you had this problem since day 1 from birth, than its deffiantely the formula, we used something Gold, i dont recall the full brand, they were little bit more expensive but they were the best. You can find them in Coles and Safeways as wellWill changing formula help with my childs spitting up?I had the same problem. Very likely he could be lactose tolerant. I had to take all dairy out of my diet when breastfeeding and switch to a soy bases formula. It wont hurt to try this for a week. Was your baby colicky. Also ask your doctor to check if your baby has a immature valve. Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?I think your child might be allergic to the iron in the formula. try one w. less iron. If that doesn't work. you child is probably latos intolerant. Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?Maybe he is allegric to the milk, ask your doctor about lactofree formula if that one you are supposed to stat giving isn't already. Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?Switch to breastfeeding. Formula is made from pasteurized milk which is basically allergy-forming white water. Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?Same situation here, changed my son's formula like 7 times after I stopped breast feeding, and everytime same thing.

Thank god, for washing machines!

Word to the wise, he did eventually stop throwing up when he was a year old and we put him on 2 percent milk and even watered that down. Also giving him a vitamin supplement. He is 15 months old now, and we still have to watch what we give him, but for the most part...juices and milk are doing well. He was born with a hernia in his stomach region...took forever for the doc's to figure that out.

Good luck with your little one, just watch and make sure he's not loosing weight, rapidly....and hopefully your situation will turn out like ours! Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?Every baby is different. When my son was a baby he spit up so much he would turn blue in the face and the doctors told me to put cerel in his bottle and that still didn't work, but by the time he was a year old it slowed down. Now we have a 4 1/5 month old and he spits up a lot to. He don't turn blue in the face though. The doctor told us that is normal. My oldest used to get ear infections all the time and the doctor eventually put tubs in his ears and those infections stopped. Thank god! Those are so bad, it hurt me seeing him in pain. The only thing i'd be really concerned about is that he is losing weight. He is too young for that. I have never heard of Alimentum formula so I don't know if it works, but for you I Really hope it does. Good luck and god bless!!!Will changing formula help with my childs spitting up?when i was a baby i couldn't drink baby milk i have to drink goats milk so try that
