Will changing my AC from R12 to 134 cause problems with the unit in any way?

A couple years ago I had a Mechanic friend tell me every vehicle he had switched over within a few months the compressors went out in them This was in AL 2 days ago a mechanic in MI said he has not had that problem. Maybe cause used more in south? Will changing my AC from R12 to 134 cause problems with the unit in any way?its pretty painless, but changing the dryer receiver is a must!.then vac,you can get an air powered vac cheap plus it tells you if the system holds pressure.vac also removes oils and moisture that wont work with 134a.the residual oil coating the o rings and hoses keeps the molecules of r134a from migrating through and breaking down the r12 hoses, its a natural barrier.

80-85%of charge.r12 systems are not designed to run the high pressures of a 134a system, and you may have to change the low pressure switch depending on your unit. ive done it around 100 times, only had 1 system lock up, and it had been defunct for years, the pressure release blew and the pump had scattered on my daughters honda. Will changing my AC from R12 to 134 cause problems with the unit in any way? There are a couple of compressor types that don't always change over too well . It is in the way the freon oil is carried thru the system . If a good technician that knows his stuff , you should have no problem . Don't let them cut corners .Will changing my AC from R12 to 134 cause problems with the unit in any way?No, most auto stores sell kits that make it pretty painless. Will changing my AC from R12 to 134 cause problems with the unit in any way?i have changed over and i had no problems/still blowing cold when i traded it in
