Does changing transmission fluid make check engine light go off?

My 2005 Honda Accord has the check engine light on. Overall it runs just fine and we do oil changes regularly. My husband says it could use a transmission fluid change. Will doing that make the light go off? I also have a 1998 Mazda Protege and it's light is also on. I don't recall if a transmission fluid change has been done on that one since we got married.Does changing transmission fluid make check engine light go off?buy something from an American company and you wouldn't have these problems, I couldn't care less if they are made in America the profit still goes to japan and puts our people out of workDoes changing transmission fluid make check engine light go off?no...you need a scan to see what the lite indicates,,,theres about 50 or 75 things the computer can sense....free scan most auto parts stores,,[80 to 100 dollars dealerDoes changing transmission fluid make check engine light go off?Not sure there. Normally the check engine light could be caused by a faulty fuel cap, or a blown O2 sensor. Other factors like low fluids might cause it to go off. If you haven't changed the tranny fluid in awhile, I suggest you do that to make your transmission happy. Those can be really expensive to replace. If that doesn't work, try changing out the gas cap.

If that fails, go down to checker auto parts or auto zone. They generally will hook up a hand held computer to your car and run a diagnostic FOR FREE to see what the issue is. And will tell you what is recommended to turn it off. Good luck.Does changing transmission fluid make check engine light go off?Transmission fluid and check engine light don't really play together..Get the code scanned and figure out the check engine light and do change the fluid in your transmission..Use Honda fluid!!!
