How do you change a document from jpeg to wps? will changing it to wps allow you to edit the document in word?

i have a business invoice that is an attachment in my e mail. i've saved it to documents but can't edit it in word/works. i think it may be because it is a jpeg file extension? how do i change this and is wps the format i should change it to?How do you change a document from jpeg to wps? will changing it to wps allow you to edit the document in word? You can't %26quot;change%26quot; it, you need OCR (optical character recognition) software to change it into an editable document.

The extension INDICATES what the file content is, it doesn't dictate it. Changing a jpg file to doc just makes it a useless file. Programs will open it as a doc file, find that it's not and report it as a corrupt file - which it is for a doc file. It has to be in doc format internally to be a doc file.

An OCR program will scan a picture, attempt to recognize text and output a text file (in whatever format you select). But even with the best OCR program (read: $$$) you'll have to make manual corrections. Even if the jpg is high contrast, no noise, O and 0 (and ) and () get mixed up, so do 1 and l (and !). The worse the program, the more you'll have to correct. There are some decent free programs and some better than decent not-so-free programs, but none of them give you 100% perfect copy..How do you change a document from jpeg to wps? will changing it to wps allow you to edit the document in word?if you are downloading it from the internet, just change the extension on the save screen.
