It's more a matter of, if you DON'T change some of the water occasionaly, your fish WILL die.

Old polluted water kills fish, nice clean fresh water doesn't.

IanWill changing the water in my fish tank hurt the fish?No it will not hurt your fish to change the water. You should do it at least once a week and if adding water out of the tap make sure you use a water ager to dechlorinate it. I also use a water conditioner with a good balance of salts, natural minerals and trace elements and bacterial and fungal inhibitors to promote health and well being. Its like opening up a window in your fish tank and they will love you for it.
