Look for vacuum leaks too. I doubt the fuel pump is the problem, if it is running and not making noises it is OK. Would not hurt putting in a new filter though. Will changing the fuel pump and fuel filter help the bad idle in my car.?Let's put it this way.....Can't hurtWill changing the fuel pump and fuel filter help the bad idle in my car.?You might have have a bad plug wire or two. 112 engines have two plugs per cylinder and sometimes a wire can go bad and cause an intermittent misfire without turning on the check engine light. Rust can also build up in the fuel rail and partially clog the injectors because the fuel doesn't have a return to the tank on that engine. Will changing the fuel pump and fuel filter help the bad idle in my car.?It is more than likely you plug wires and spark plugs, I believe their is 2 per cylinder with coils mounted on the rocker cover. While at the dealership we ran into this quite often
