Will changing my internet provider mean changing my number....?

I am currently with sky and therefor have to pay sky line rental. However, now I want to leave sky from tv, phone and internet as i want to join o2 broadband which requires a BT land line.

However, someone has suggested by changing my land line back to BT will mean changing my number, is this correct or not?

Any help would be massively helpful :)Will changing my internet provider mean changing my number....?I swapped over to a different internet company and i was allowed to keep my number.

I dont think it should be a problem for you.....you can always phone O2 and ask them.

Dont ask BT because they will say anything to get you to join them....

phone O2 first and ask them the question, they will know. Will changing my internet provider mean changing my number....?It really has nothing to do with o2 so don't bother them, they will only be providing you with broadband so will have no control over your phone number. Normally you can keep your existing number just give BT a call or you can even have a live chat with them online. Will changing my internet provider mean changing my number....?No you can Port your Phone No to any new provider...

The actual process, strangely usually involves comming back to BT and then on to the new provider... BUT contact the new provider that you want, and they will arrange to take over the line and do all the work.

Depending on the new ISP you may or may not need to move from Sky. BT is the most flexible telephone provider, and if you take their basic package, you can get cheap calls using alternate providers.

eg UK calls 0p/min any time any length (not just 60mins) 24/7

and international calls from 0.5p/min to most common places

If you change from sky to BT, sky to o2 or sky to talk talk, sky to virgin etc you can keep your number without any problems. However if you have a disputue with sky and your line gets disconnected before the number is moved to another telephone provider then you may loose that number.

So simply , if you take the process of %26quot;switching back to BT from another provider%26quot; then you can usually take your number with you, if you completly cancel your line with sky and reconnect with BT you will loose your number and will get a new number from BT.
