Will changing my hard drive affect my genuine winxp license?

I have a genuine winxp license in my current 20 gb hard drive. I want to upgrade my hard drive to 80 gb. when i reinstall my winxp, will microsoft detect this as ungenuine copy? Will changing my hard drive affect my genuine winxp license?Anytime you change hardware in that respect as you are doing, you have to reactivate your software. But as long as you have the product key that came with your XP software, it's not going to be a problem. Will changing my hard drive affect my genuine winxp license?it may you can go to youtube and do a search for activating windows lic. and there are steps i you need it. for the cost why stop at 80 gigs not very big for a hard drive today. if you put music and do any video work you will eat that space up fairly quickly. unless you are using the 80 gig just for storage drive. that may be the best option. to make the 80 gig a secondary storeage drive ? just a thought.

These are your current activation files when you activated your windows.

Install your Windows onto the 80GB drive, hold off on activating the software until after you do the following. Then go to the same directory as before. rename the current two files there and put the ones from the flash drive into that directory.

This saves you a lot of headaches when you reinstall Windows into the same computer.
