Will changing the soil ph change the color of a white azalea?

We will take 4 white azalea plants and using the same fertilizer, add something to alter the ph to affect the color of the plants blooms. What can we use to do this? Will changing the soil ph change the color of a white azalea? In most cases, pH isn't the factor, but iron content is. Azalea's prefer acidic soil because the iron is free, not locked up.

To increase pH (make it more basic), adding lime will work. Making it more acidic can be problematic, because most acids will damage the plants, or else you will be adding extra nutrients. Iron sulphate or ammonium sulphate tends to do the job, but they tend to be short-term only; monopotassium phosphate, ammonium phosphates and urea also tend to do the job, providing part of the nutrients in the process.
