I have a 2000 Mustang V6. It has 96,000 miles on it. I don't know if the plugs where ever changed but I plan on changing them with new wires anyways. Should I go ahead and change out my coil pack also? If I do should I just get an oem replacement or a Screaming Demon coil pack. Is there a difference between the two? What you should do is get a nice set of motorcraft plugs and wires. Try to stick stock. Replacing the coil pack won't really help. If your vehicle is firing on all 6 cyl. and the spark is blue after swapping plugs and wires there is no need to change the coil pack. After you change wires and before you install the new plugs put each plug in the wire and lay it on bare metal thereby grounding it. Crank the engine over and see if the spark is blue before screwing the plug in. Repeat for all cyls. If the spark is weak it will be yellow or orange and a new coil should give it the blue spark that is needed to run fine. A vehicle may run ok but if the spark is weak (yellow) it is just a matter of time until you have a problem and it is not as efficient. But if you amp it up considerably, you could burn things out.
