Will changing the human genome affect the evolution of humans in the future?

What is the impact of changing the human genome on evolutions of humans in the future? Is it a positive or negative impact? How will it impact?

What is a genome? What is selective breeding? What is gene therapy? What are transgenics?

Thanks! Will changing the human genome affect the evolution of humans in the future?Human genome is a complicated system, where millions and millions of genes (DNA) exist, so %26quot;changing genome%26quot; is a very general concept. Therefore, it would depend on %26quot;how%26quot; and %26quot;where%26quot; you change the genome. However, when changed properly, it can have positive impact. For example, it can may improve the neuro -impulse, which can make humans react to something faster, or can give humans stronger bones, and faster working brains, etc.

Genome is a whole set of DNA, or genome sequence present in species.

Selective breeding is when people selects one characteristic of species (gene) and breeds it by

selecting the animals that have the characteristic they want.

Gene therapy is curing of specific disease by changing gene sequence.

Transgenics are organisms whose gene sequences have been changed.

Hope it helepd :DWill changing the human genome affect the evolution of humans in the future?Ultimately, it doens't really matter. Human evolution is erratic as we have taken our evolution into our own hands. Will changing the human genome affect the evolution of humans in the future?it s a very general question.a genome is a particular character that defines the genetic makeup of an organism, for example,in humans there could be many genomes like IaIB and many more.changing genome will lead to many changes like change in antibodies in our body, our adaptance, our strength etc.so this certainly says that there could be both positve and negative impact on the comming progeny of the human which will certainly change the results of evolution in the time lapse of several years.gene therapy is curing of diseases using methods of changing of genes.selective breeding is breeding of one species(of suitable gene)with other species to get desirable traits.

hope this might work. Will changing the human genome affect the evolution of humans in the future?%26gt; Will changing the human genome affect the evolution of humans in the future?

Yes. Duh.

%26gt; What is the impact of changing the human genome on evolutions of humans in the future?

Most likely a reduction in genetic diversity (you'll notice that other forms of artificial selection, whether for agriculture or for the pet industry, tend to favor only a very limited number of strains or breeds). Such selection in humans would followi popular trends. Imagine a generation of girls all of whom are a lot like Miley Cyrus.

%26gt; Is it a positive or negative impact? How will it impact?

Both. You get yourself predictable offspring... but so do all your neighbors. You end up with a monoculture of humans. If a flu comes along that is lethal to one human in the altered generation, it'll wipe them all out.

%26gt; What is a genome?

All the genes and alleles that are present in a species.

A genotype would be all the alleles that an individual has.

A gene pool would be all the alleles that a breeding population has.

%26gt; What is selective breeding?

An intelligent agency picks and chooses which organisms in a population will be able to reproduce, historically using visible traits as selection criteria.

%26gt; What is gene therapy?

Attempting to replace a person's defective alleles with good ones.

%26gt; What are transgenics?

Organisms that have genes from another species.
