Will changing my surname have any effect on getting credit?

Im 17 and my surname isnt my proper surname (im using my mums but want my dads), im going to be getting it chagned soon, but when i turn 18 if apply for credit will there be any issues with me using a different surname than my birth surname?

Thanks! Will changing my surname have any effect on getting credit? No it should not affect you as long as you declare any surnames used at any time - women have to do this when they are married. Most important is to be on Electoral Roll (you should be at 18 in order to vote) with the correct name. My records only show me at my address for 18 years (time I have been married) but I have been here 20 %26amp; declare previous surnames. Will changing my surname have any effect on getting credit? In the UK you are tracked using your name and date of birth. So, yes a change of name will mean they can't find you but you could always offer up your former name

At 17 you don't have much of a credit score anyway so what are you worrying about? Start building it using your new name. Will changing my surname have any effect on getting credit?it should not. Your credit is tracked by your SSN
